Fragas da Canteira is located in Lires, a small rural village between Cape Fisterra and Cape Touriñan, with a privileged environment that you can discover at your leisure:
- The Lires estuary, the smallest in Galicia, of great ornithological interest
- The beaches of Lires - Nemiña, known and highly appreciated for their wild waves and visited every year by surfers. Its sunsets are spectacular and peaceful
- The beach of O Rostro, a wild sandy area of more than 2,000 metres in length, with large dunes covered with protected natural vegetation.
- Hiking routes, among which we highlight the Meigha Lirea route, which runs along the banks of the estuary and the cliffs of the Lires coast, from where you can see the coves Area Grande, Area Pequena, Lires - Nemiña beaches and, within its boundaries, the O Rostro sandy area. You can download detailed information about this route on this page.
In addition, Lires is on the Camino de Santiago in its section Muxía - Fisterra, so it is the ideal place to spend the night and if you want, seal your credentials of the Camino.
On this same page you will find the panels that describe this last section of the Camino de Santiago, through the churches that you will find along it: San Martiño de Duio, Lires, Frixe and Morquintián, beautiful small samples of the architectural history of A Costa da Morte.
